Participants
This course is designed for users who want to improve their knowledge of FileMaker for data entry and searches. This course does not cover database design or programming.
Description
Participants will learn how to search a FileMaker database efficiently and how to manipulate records in fields and tables in an optimal way.
Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course. However, participants should be familiar with basic operations such as opening the FileMaker Pro application, opening a file (.fmp12) and navigating records and fields.

FileMaker for Beginner Developers
Participants
This course is designed for participants who already know the Claris FileMaker software from a user’s point of view for data entry and searches but have not yet explored programming.
Description
With our training session for beginners, you will learn how it’s possible to create a Claris FileMaker solution in just a few hours. Learn how to turn your Excel spreadsheets into Claris FileMaker applications that are networked and accessible on your mobile devices. You will learn to establish a relationship between two tables, how to design modern layouts that enhance the user experience.
Requirements
Participants who attend this training session must know how to:
- Create, delete and modify tables and records
- Create, delete and modify find requests
- Create, delete and modify layouts

FileMaker for Intermediate Developers
Participants
This course is for participants who are already familiar with Claris FileMaker’s basic programming tools, but wish to explore the platform’s capabilities.
Description
With our intermediate level training session, you will learn how to organize tables and links in an optimal way and how to automate the users’ tasks by means of scripts. Also, learn how to use calculations, variables, and script settings to develop an ergonomic and elegant user interface.
Requirements
Participants who attend this training session must know how to:
- Import and export data
- Create and manage layouts
- Add and move objects in layout
- Configure single action buttons
- Create a link between two tables

Participants
This course is intended for participants who are already comfortable with programming with FileMaker software, but who wish to reach a more advanced level.
Description
Participants will learn advanced techniques for data modeling, handling multiple script parameters, and using custom functions. They will also learn how to use advanced calculations and script triggers to enhance the user experience.
Requirements
Participants who enroll in the advanced class should know how to:
- Establish and configure relationships between multiple tables
- Design and use calculation formulas
- Build scripts to automate routines
- Use layout objects and object formatting to enhance the user experience
- Create and configure account and privileges
